Happy that Moz has taken back his albums. Here's hoping they get released properly, even if it is self-released. The concert fans would lap them up at the merch bar. Why kowtow to braindead record labels?
Nick Cave - lucid, honest, intelligent, unwavering except to his own inner forces, and reigning supreme with a string of brilliant albums such as Ghosteen and Carnage. Of course I've preordered his upcoming album Wild God. A Cave-Moz duet would be the next best thing to a Brett Anderson/Moz...
I have the vinyl from back in the day and the photos (cover and gatefold) were taken from the concert. Why ruin the re-issue with a photo taken decades later with a different band. How can Warners be so stupid? The newer cover makes Moz look cranky and confused.
One day goodbye will be farewell. I have the Years Of Refusal LP spinning and I have to say it's a great record and an underrated record. There isn't one dud track on it.
I like the cover version, especially the music when it kind of goes wild. But....that (leather?) couch sure isn't a bed, ehhh unless it's a pull out bed. Obviously I much prefer Moz's version but as cover versions go this is one of the better ones I think.
A pathetically pedantic p.s. from...
An easy mistake to make. The sleeve art in this case is the outer sleeve (or cover) but a lot of reccords have inner sleeve art too, or perhaps lyrics or production details written on the inner sleeve that contains the record.
I'm ashamed, ashen-faced, aggreived and almost agitated at my abject absence of awareness of this artist. At least now we know that Moz kmows how to send e-mails.
But is it news? If this is the April RSD 12" then we knew about it weeks ago when they released the list. The Interlude RSD is VASTLY over-priced at €32.99. It's twice the price it should be.
Might just be me but I always thought J&MC were over-rated and wouldn't recognise a melody if it landed on their heads. Doesn't bother me in the slightest what some of them think about Smiths/Moz, or what anyone thinks.
Is the 'Every Day' meant to be slightly out of focus, inferring how the days blur, or just a crap phone/photographer. I'd have taken 3 and picked the clearest.
I think he died old and as a ghost rejoined his friends who also died old, and all are ghosts, returned to a happy time when they were carefree children.
