This is going to be one of those confusing things that doesn't make sense and gets chewed over to the point of sleep-inducement.

It was reported here Monday that the single had entered (note specific title):
"Official Singles Chart Update Top 100"
At #47 as part of the 'mid-week' update*.

(* Defined as: The UK's Top 100 biggest singles of midweek is compiled by the Official Charts Company, based on sales of downloads, CDs, vinyl and audio and video streams across Friday - Sunday).

Today's same chart saw it remain at that position 4 days later.

I have been watching the vinyl singles chart for the last 2 weeks. This was the chart it was expected to do well in.
For whatever reason, the vinyl single hasn't appeared whatsoever in the vinyl chart since release - certainly not at #1.
Why is anyone's guess as the sales are enough to justify it appearing there.
Perhaps the next update will reflect that fact.

Unsure where the chart placings cited by Central have come from (edit: but note: the main chart & vinyl chart NEVER publish sales figures publicly, so it looks like a different source).

Regards,
FWD.

Is he talking about the mid week charts, the weekly one doesn't come out until later today?

Of course no one would like to propose or admit that there is a conspiracy against Morrissey?

A first place charting would show that in spite of somethings he may have said in the past, his fan base is still alive and well, even if...
‘just for one day’.

It had 2500 sales, is that his fan base now?

Nah, not today, thanks. 🥱

Well, not a total reflection of it of course. We also have to take into consideration that Bowie fans were
also able to forgive or understand Morrissey in the first place and purchase the single.

Anyway, a sign of support from any corner of the ring is nice.

THIS IS REALITY PEEPS!!:thumb:
NO 1 :lbf:
MORE THAN TIESTO AND ARIANA GRANDE
AND EVERYBODY ELSE:lbf:

another day without the stupid 'new Le:frogface: cd':lbf:

This must be so hard for some to accept. Viva Moz!

The majority of those sales would have been to Bowie fans, no? I'm sort of assuming that there are many more Bowie fans in the world than Morrissey fans.
I did think about buying one but £12 for a seven-inch single? Not bloomin' likely.

That it was number one. That it was just for one day is neither here nor there. Even Moz was clear on the fact that it was just for one day.
