Low in High School (A Low Life in High Heels)

I was just recently reading about Lou Reed's song "Walk on The Wild Side" and looked at the lyrics at https://genius.com/Lou-reed-walk-on-the-wild-side-lyrics
and saw the reference to Holly Woodlawn and her biography "A Low Life in High Heels", and wondered if there was a title connection.
Also the song has the reference to Joe Dallesandro, who was on the cover of The Smiths.
Perhaps old news and topic for most but was an interesting connection for me.

Do you mean by the reference to Low and High?

On a side note, following the link you posted to the lyrics, I coud read the song was based on a novel of which John Fante wrote the screenplay for the film. This made me remember how much I like John Fante. I read some of his books very early in life because my father was a huge fan. All these words just to say: read John Fante, you won't regret it :)
