12:14 AM - no go, navajo...

turns out that recycling man has a GIRLFRIEND.
the little turd!
Sure, he never "asked me out" but I consider the act of hanging around someone all evening to the point of ditching the band to continue hanging out with that person even though they never asked to be some sort of indication that there is interest.
i've arrived to the conclusion that this is an odd bunch of dudes.
i went to go rock out with them last night...although I admittedly felt sad driving over there because i feel ridiculous playing the part of rawker at my age. however, i can't deny opportunities to go out and meet people at this point as this is Suzanne attempting to expand her mind.
anyway, so the main dude that has been inviting me is engaged. he theoretically would have been married at this point, but there was a hissy fit thrown by the parents about not having a "proper" wedding.
however, he's made comments to me like "I'm glad you're here..." and all that which I thought were a bit odd. I also found it strange that the fiancee, while acting like I was her buddy in front of him, had nothing else to do with me otherwise.
I voiced my concerns to Robo a few weeks ago after the alcoholic dude incident and he said, "oh, it's no biggie. they invite everyone. I've been a few times myself...."
anyhow, i went last night, hung out, came home, got on the computer before I went to bed, and he started IM'ing me.
the condensed version:
"I like when you come over.....you're one of my crushes....my fiancee knows you're one of my crushes, so it's OK...."
upon telling him who I was last dating, he said, "I know. I research all of my crushes."
I had no idea what to say except to try and change the subject and ask about Recycler man (I'll call him "the 3-R's") and his feigned interest.
"He likes you. we all like you."
and he also explained that 3R's relationship with the current girlfriend is coming to a close because she is a bad person....i have no idea what that means, but I guess the fact that she pitched a fit that 3R's went out and bought a brand new (expensive) guitar qualifies as a "harpie" in that bunch.
yes, so now I'm reconsidering my venture with these guys. It seems like there is a lot of cretinous activity in that group.
In other news....
I think I've got a few other contenders. One had caught my eye back in November of last year when I was selling WLA raffle tickets. We were hanging out in the courtyard this afternoon when Robo came walking by on his way to work (in his suit) and said, "I'm off to play lawyer" and rested his hand on my arm for a brief second as he walked past.
I'm not quite sure if that was a touch of encouragement or if was done to convey to the other dude that I belong to somebody else. It did seem very "hi, honey, I'm off to the office."
