Alain Whyte FB: Rehearsal photos shared (August 22, 2021)

It is nice to hear you like it (as many do) :) To be fair, most anything M would put his voice to would be "better", but I wouldn't count on him singing this Alain tune. He's already provided him about 20 originals that sound fantastic and with patience we'll all hopefully get to hear as many of...

Morrissey Central "YOU’RE THAT STRETCH OF THE BEACH THAT THE TIDE DOESN’T REACH" (July 9, 2021)

It’s my opinion, Pigsty was the last truly great Moz song. There have been many good to very good songs since, but nothing has quite reached this level. Based on this, the albums have been a bit hit and miss since Quarry, as well. There was a clear chemistry breakdown in the band for obvious...

Fiona Dodwell: "The poet without a home: Morrissey has been let down by the music industry" (May 31, 2021)

I've had this conversation several times with someone with at least some insight and I was convinced based on what I knew that this new release was set up by and negotiated with a (major) label. In fact, I'd have bet (and apparently lost) they had a deal in place with him stating if he agreed...

Morrissey Central "The World Will Listen" (April 22, 2021)

He's such a weird cat... he actually blocked me from his Twitter account. I'd called out someone he was championing as being a Neo-lib bootlicker (I think that's what I said.) and he assigned the term to himself, oddly. Then he proceeded to attempt to mock me behind the locked...

DrumWise Meets... Spike T. Smith (April 3, 2021)

He's had an unfair amount of solid drummers. Had plans to work with Spike on a small UK tour just over a year ago and then Corona. He seems a cool cat and I was a good bit disappointed when things fell through.

Fiona Dodwell: "Ringleader in Reflection: A Look Back at Morrissey’s 2006 Album, Ringleader of The Tormentors" (March 31, 2021)

I won't go so far as to say "before", but certainly after. I've made the same comment recently. There have been some great tunes since, but nothing has topped Pigsty.

Alain Whyte - 4 interviews from '97-'02 (Morrissey content)

It's interesting reading these and seeing how some of the perspectives or answers have changed over the years. Thanks for compiling them.

Morrissey Central "TO SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE" (January 13, 2021)

Unrelated to this, I noticed this for the first time yesterday. I was convinced it must have been some error by the art department. 🤔

Morrissey Central "SHOULD OLD ACQUAINTANCE" (December 31, 2020)

The thing I loved and dearly miss about the Alain/Moz writing partnership was that they could come up with something like this (which is as "in your face" aggressive musically as anything he's done) as well as say, something as intricate and melodic as Hold Onto Your Friends. Always loved Boy Racer.

Does anyone have this concert in mp3 form? It sounds terrific, and the arrangements are excellent

This was the Holy Grail for me at the time of its release. Bootlegs were kind of hit and miss and one never knew what the quality would sound like. I was able to hear this one and bought it at a Moz/Smiths convention in either '92/'93 in Los Angeles, if I recall. Most I'd ever paid for a cd at...
