Really enjoyed How Soon Is Never, as well as some of his writing for spin (the ryan adams article was fun). Maron reposted his WTF episode after Marc passed, it's worth a listen.
I quite enjoy the hard times and usually get a laugh out of every second or so article i read, but this one feels kinda lazy? Theres so many Morrissey-ism's to the way he speaks, it could have been beneficial to watch or read an interview or two instead of just responding with the punchline...
As a Canadian its hard not to feel slighted. I've many friends who just don't get Morrissey (but naturally, love the smiths) and i'm always hearing "why, why do you bother?". Its like being in a relationship with someone who doesn't return your calls, or insists you always come to their place to...
Hey friends, For a while we were throwing a once monthly party here in Toronto, where we played nothing but the smiths and morrissey (save for a april fools joke where we made it through three Cure tracks before the joke was abandoned).
Noisey/Vice did a nice write-up on it for our last...
interesting. i've heard about this being a possibility for a few years now, at one point i believe Jeremy Allen White (who plays lip on the american version of Shameless) was set to star in the movie, with Stephen Kijak (who directed 30 Century Man) set to direct, but I can't find much about...
Can't speak for much else (as i've yet to see the book) but I know some photos were taken at the night we did here in Toronto, Canada (eh). So technically, it's not strictly USA.
I can vouch but only for myself, that I've never seen a seal, nor skinned a bear, but we've had a few people come out to our night (as i usually post about it in the Events section of the forum), and I thank moz solo-ians for that.
cheers!
Hi all.
our event is done and dusted (save for possible one-off's) but noisey/vice did a nice little piece on us and how it was a ridiculous monthly and how i got sappy at the end of the night and etc etc etc.
please be nice. ;)...
Hey all, just doing the thing where I forget to post about this night, again.
After 29 editions, Decembers event will be the last under this format. We're really excited that there was a bar here (aptly named after a smiths tune) that let us do such a ridiculous niche thing for this long. My...
just updating this post with info on the next night (We do this monthly, but i'll often forget to post... oh well)
https://www.facebook.com/events/164418903892787/
hope to see you out if you're in or about toronto.
i'm more or less anticipating it to sound like the tom petty / replacements stuff he's been doing lately but he did catch a bit of the smiths guitar work on 'anybody wanna take me home'.
AUGUST TIME. our two year anniversary!
We're celebrating that although we live in a country S.P.M refuses to tour, we found a bar cool enough to let us do such a ridiculous niche night once a month for two years strong.
As always, All and Only the Smiths and Morrissey. No post-punk, brit pop...
