Morrissey A-Z: "You Have Killed Me"

    Love this one.
  2. Harsh Truth

Morrissey A-Z: "(The) Teachers Are Afraid of the Pupils"

I am a supporter of Southpaw Grammar but I just can't get into this track. And I've tried, as recently as a few months ago. I usually start the album with The Boy Racer, I'm afraid.

Las Vegas, NV - The Colosseum at Caesars Palace (Sep. 4, 2021) post-show

Correct. They'd been doing a sort of mariachi version that was slower for the last few years. The result was all energy was removed from the song.

Las Vegas, NV - The Colosseum at Caesars Palace (Sep. 4, 2021) post-show

Nice to see that "First of the Gang to Die" has returned in it's original (and proper) arrangement. I didn't like the slightly slower version they had been doing the last few years, nor the one with the trumpet.

    The Drivel Thread

Had a bit of rain overnight.

Morrissey A-Z: "Striptease With a Difference"

Always found this to be a fun little song. Does the 2nd of the two versions linked above exist as a MP3? I'm not sure I've ever heard that version and quite like it.
  7. Harsh Truth

Morrissey A-Z: "Staircase at the University"

A highlight of WPINOYB. Always thought this had a bit of a Bona Drag era feel to it. Musically it's good, lyrically it has it's moments. I could do without the Spanish guitar outro, personally.
  8. Harsh Truth

Las Vegas, NV - The Colosseum at Caesars Palace (Aug. 28, 2021) post-show

I'll admit that I lean more towards the rockers.
  9. Harsh Truth

Las Vegas, NV - The Colosseum at Caesars Palace (Aug. 28, 2021) post-show

Agreed. But it has been played at 75% of live shows since 2007. Enough already.
  10. Harsh Truth

Las Vegas, NV - The Colosseum at Caesars Palace (Aug. 28, 2021) post-show

I had high hopes that he'd roll out something really interesting for this residency, but I knew it would be something like this. Not saying there weren't a few interesting additions/debuts (mostly slower ones though - strange?), but why he clings so tightly to rather dull catalog songs like...

Morrissey A-Z: "Spent the Day in Bed"

I REALLY disliked this song at first. But, it has grown on me a bit. Especially since much of LIHS is so dull.

    Morrissey A-Z: "Sister I'm a Poet"

Love this song in all of it's incarnations, even the 2007/2008 outings which many felt were just another Jesse chop job.
  13. Harsh Truth

    Morrissey A-Z: "Scandinavia"

Definitely in my list of 10 least favorites. A tuneless dirge that goes absolutely nowhere.
  14. Harsh Truth

    Morrissey A-Z: "Satellite of Love"

Agree that this cover is rather boring. It perhaps could be have been interesting with a different arrangement, but the band didn't do this one any justice.
  15. Harsh Truth

Morrissey A-Z: "Satan Rejected My Soul"

    A highlight of Maladjusted.
  16. Harsh Truth

    Morrissey A-Z: "Reader Meet Author"

Love this one. Quintessential Morrissey for me.
  17. Harsh Truth

    Morrissey A-Z: "Moon Over Kentucky"

Has Morrissey ever done a 25 song set? 19-22 is about the range lately. On the "Maladjusted" tour you'd be lucky to get 16! To answer your question, one cover.
  18. Harsh Truth

Morrissey Central "THE BOYS IN THE BAND" (July 19, 2021)

Didn't Solomon walk off the tour in 2014, forcing Mando to be "air-dropped in" on very short notice?
