    Wire - Red Barked Tree

Anyone heard it so far? I love it. Especially Please Take, Adapt, and the title track. Much better than their last one, I think. Can't wait to finally see them live in a few months.

Free new studio tracks from NIN and Jane's Addiction

http://www.ninja2009.com/ To promote their upcoming joint tour they've released a tour sampler EP with 2 unreleased NIN studio tracks, 2 new Trent-produced recordings of Jane's Addiction songs, and 2 songs from RATM guitarist Tom Morello's side project. Available at the website. Digging...

Bowie recording new material in Berlin?

http://www.nme.com/news/david-bowie/42247 Sounds dubious, but Bowie's undeniably enough of a geek to use twitter. Then again, any anonymous schmuck could've just as easily made a fake twitter page for him. I certainly hope it's legitamate. I'd love some new Bowie music and to see him (at...

Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends

I'm probably asking for trouble for posting this, but that's alright. C'mon, fess up... I know that at least a few of you must have heard the new Coldplay album. Don't be scared to admit it. Loudly and proudly proclaim your opinion of it herein. I personally think it's a fantastic album...

Prince covers Radiohead's Creep at Coachella

http://www.savefile.com/files/1540940 (mp3) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUeELOGUtmk (partial video, bad quality) Not that Creep is the cream of the Radiohead crop, but I'm still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor that he even knew who Radiohead are, much less decided to cover one of...

    Request: Associates - Sulk

While searching for new music I came across The Associates' Skipping. It was love at first listen- I must hear more of this music. Would anyone who has Sulk be so kind as to upload it for me? Failing that, any album from them that a newcomer would enjoy would be highly appreciated.

    Boys

Anyone have any news on the Swedish band that was getting some attention before YATQ with their tracks being labeled as Moz's? The last I heard, they had a new album out (this was some years ago) called Wapping, but when I tried to order it from their distributer, the site had been taken down...

    Smashing Pumpkin - Tarantula

The new Smashing Pumpkins single is available here. Anyone else enjoying it? I was secretly hoping for a more electronic sound, but I don't have any complaints- other than Corgan's voice sounding a little hollow. I can't wait for the new album. EDIT: And that's a horribly unfortunate typo in...

Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancing

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAD8IaNabYE I'm digging it. It has a very 80's feel which I hope will be a trend on the rest of the new album. The self-titled album was kind of hit and miss for me, but there were some songs on there that I really enjoyed.

The Dears - Gang of Losers

Fantastic album. Not quite as adventurous as No Cities Left, but much more solid. "Ballad of Humankindness" and "Whites Only Party" are my favorites, but there's not a song on the album that I don't enjoy. Definitely one of my favorite releases this year.

Something rare for the Bowie fans

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UX6FT6DT This is a sampling of the 3.5-hour-long recording session that formed the basis of Bowie's Outside album. They were initially planning on releasing it in this style. Thankfully, that didn't happen. Leon.mp3 is "The Enemy is Fragile", which was originally...

Humble request for DM fans who play guitar

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsAfKoJuhzE So I'd really like to learn to play the bare version of Surrender. It's all strumming, and doesn't seem very complicated. The problem is, my guitar playing skills are rather nominal. I can pick out the random chord here and there from the video, but...

    Question for Depeche Mode fans

I'm really digging the b-sides from the Playing the Angel singles- Free, Newborn, and Better Days. I'm wondering if anyone knew which (if any) were written by Dave Gahan. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the songs that Gahan wrote on Playing the Angel.

    Love Will Tear Us Apart

http://myoldkyhome.blogspot.com/2006/05/love-will-tear-us-apart.html Around 25 different covers, plus the original, plus a Peel session version of it. I know, I know. We don't like Joy Division here. ;) But I thought some of the covers were pretty nice (while some are really terrible)...

    The new Erasure (acoustic) album

Anyone have a strong opinion on Union Street? It disappoints me, especially after the excellent Nightbird.
