9. The Girl From Tel Aviv Who Wouldn’t Kneel...
Nice choice with the Bragg cover, think it would suit M well, especially lyrically
“Valentines Day is over, if you want to talk about it, well… you know where the phone is”
Morrissey sits down and performs a MTV Unplugged style set, what’s on the setlist?
It could be of any era, mine just happened to be mostly pre-2000 stuff, and I suppose the 90s being the era of Unplugged sessions makes sense.
Deep cuts, dream cover versions and acoustic interpretations of...
I think that the band gets too much stick at times, m some of the directions they’ve gone in the last few years have been quite interesting, it’s just Moz often hasn’t matched his past works lyrically and that’s a massive reason people connect with his work.
I don’t think it’s one of his best, but probably ranks higher than “Dog” “Refusal” “World Peace” and more than likely over “Bonfire” and “World Dies” given the previews of those records we’ve had.
“My Love I’d…” is his Bond tune that never was, “Home is a Question Mark” is a classic Moz...
Well what do you reckon was the reason?
If the cancellations were because of some injury surely the Tokyo gig, a mere week and half or so after the cancellations would not go ahead - but it’s a sold out show, so it will.
Surely if it’s on then the other concerts were cancelled due to low ticket sales then?
Real kick in the cock to those who were going to those cancelled dates
Typical Moz, Typical Moz, Typical Moz…
Big shame, but not unexpected, even if Carmen hadn’t broken her foot or whatever, there was always a strong chance these wouldn’t go ahead. If you booked a trip solely around these, you must surely need your head looking at
Worrying if so! But maybe then the whole leg (yes, pun) of the tour would be shelved rather than Singapore? Perhaps she just couldn’t fly for it with it being so soon.
with this list of albums in mind…
1: Some Say I Got Devil (California Sun)
2: The Boy With The Thorn in His Side (TWWL)
3: You Have Killed Me (ROTT)
4: Come Back to Camden (YATQ)
5: Sing Your Life (Kill Uncle)
6: A Rush and A Push and The Land is Ours (Strangeways, Here We Come)
7...
Oh no I completely agree, Moz also didn’t say anything that could be misconstrued as riling people up either, he was a cheeky spirits throughout. Felt the crowd overall had a really good vibe about it too - aside from a few fists flying in some small, drunken circles, which is to be expected...
is Notre Dame potentially his worst song, ever??
Upon reflection, i think it’s up there. Musically it’s not the worst thing in the world, but Morrissey doesn’t sing , he speaks, and he speaks absolute shite for what felt like an ungodly about of time (it was probably about 4 minutes)
What an...
A fab night, venue was great and thankfully the weather was fine, a nice evening sky with lovely architecture gave it a unique feel and really added to some of the numbers - the music drop out section of “Sunday” and the enveloping fog of “Jack The Ripper” the latter in which was stunning as the...
Pleasant melody as heard from the live shows, guitar work too is nice.
Production sound a bit off though and not sure if it’s my stream but Moz’s voice sounds quite strange? Auto tuned? Could be just on my end though.
Sleeve is horrific however, from whatever angle you’re sitting at.
Felt it was a great, great show last night, the tour overall seems to have been a resounding success, perhaps one of his best in recent years due to the venues chosen.
He wasn’t massively chatty but Moz seemed to be enjoying himself and the band all sounded fantastic. No disrespect to Boz but...
