Re: Does anybody know what the 'nonsense' off the original records Marr was referring
Yep. Adding bass AND compression makes for a thumpy, club-like sound that doesn't work here (or with the Beatles stereo remasters, for that matter.)
All your opinion, which you are surely entitled to. I absolutely do not agree, especially about the argument part. I am not interested in arguing about this, as everyone has their own taste.
Re: Does anybody know what the 'nonsense' off the original records Marr was referring
The new remasters have been compressed, making them louder and less dynamic than the original LPs and CDs.
I fully agree. The RT were plenty loud enough, with very little room for amplification without compression. These new remasters are too loud for my stereo, producing a thumpy quality when I turn it up that simply is not present on the RT or Sire CDs. I had a similar reaction to the Beatles...
Re: Sound of the Smiths - Deluxe Edition - Mint Condition - For Sale
I priced this $3 cheaper than the cheapest price for a used copy on amazon.
I simply have too many Smiths compilations and need to thin my collection.
45 Smiths tracks on this one, many rare and different mixes as well.
Sound of the Smiths - Deluxe Edition - Mint Condition - For Sale
I have the brand new Smiths Compilation for sale -
