Morrissey Central “Boom !" & "Hotel in Jakarta" (December 27, 2022)

And the classic: Mike and Moz had a sexual relationship.

    Going for a spin?

Low In High School. The absolute nadir of his career. It's completely dreadful. Even the good or decent tracks are disposable.

Happy new year, what female singer do we want to step up and save I am Veronica?

The song itself is so catastrophically boring, it should be tucked away and forgotten altogether.

Morrissey Central “REBELS WITHOUT ASSISTANCE” (December 22, 2022)

Yes, but you’re talking about the trolls now, I think.

Some are just out to be assholes, but most just want a levelheaded discussion about one of the artists that mean the most to us. That includes criticism just like it includes praise.

This is a discussion board about Morrissey. Here, we discuss and talk about Morrissey. The good and the bad. We do it because he interests us and we do it for a laugh. We don’t do it to try and influence Morrissey (that would be some Chapman-esque level delusion). Why is this so hard to understand?

Fiona Dodwell: "Sing Your Life: How Morrissey Became Music’s Greatest Lyricist" (December 21, 2022)

Abysmal? Really? I wouldn’t call the lyrics to Faith or The Same Deep Water As You abysmal. Same goes for Ladder Song and To Death’s Heart.

Morrissey Central “REBELS WITHOUT ASSISTANCE” (December 22, 2022)

Morrissey in conversation? What’s the meaning of this? And if true artists look after themselves, why is he so f***ing keen on being signed to - and looked after by - a (major) record label?

Fiona Dodwell: "Sing Your Life: How Morrissey Became Music’s Greatest Lyricist" (December 21, 2022)

Never been a massive fan. He’s too abstract for me. He doesn’t move me. But sure, he’s great at what he does and it’s not hard to see why he’s been as insanely influential as he has.

What’s one cover you’d like Morrissey to do?

That would actually be great. Imagine a really strong set of lyrics to a song like European Me or Hi Hello. That said, (latter day) Morrissey has himself written far worse lyrics than those Marr wrote for these songs.

    Morrissey and Dickens

I’m sure there’s a Dickens passage in Mozipedia, right?
  13. Gregor Samsa

What’s one cover you’d like Morrissey to do?

No more indie, punk or Brit pop shite. Moz should embrace his fantastic strengths as a crooner.

What’s one cover you’d like Morrissey to do?

Please don’t turn this thread into yet another thread about f***ing Suede. 😩

What’s one cover you’d like Morrissey to do?

Just one? Ugh… Today, I’ll go with Frank Sinatra - “Glad to be Unhappy”

Sam Esty Rayner / YouTube: Morrissey Interview 2022. (Premiered November 28, 2022)

Great to see him, great to see him look good and healthy, great to hear him talk. He was even funny at times and sometimes he made sense. But often it was way too anodyne, way too self-aggrandizing and lacking depth. And the stuff he said about countries and diversity will bury him even deeper...
