I think Morrissey does want good reviews. Wants people to understand and appreciate, however unlikely he may expect that to be.
Agree, because Morrissey maintains a distance, a difference from mainstream pop artists, he is more likely to be reviewed in terms of the reviewers' attitude about...
Here's an idea:
Do a poll to see how many people actually paid cover price for their ticket for the show(s) they are going/have seen on this tour.
The dedicated ones could ask people leaving the venue after the show if they minded telling. By then the touts should be gone and less risk of...
I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep..
I don't want to see him everywhere!!!!
*I've been trying to finish a picture, consequently Mozzed-out.
The opening line sets the scene
"I decree today that life is simply taking and not giving"
then brings it down to the personal
"England is mine and it owes me a living"
The creed of greed promoted by Thatcherism, personified
or a commentary on a society where the poorest have...
Re: Boz talks about his record collection; says Years Of Refusal is "...really specia
It's a collectors magazine, so they bound to concentrate on that, whatever else may have been said.
I've always wondered why the cat yowls outside my door in the early hours. If only I'd listened more carefully, we could be celebrating the cat's book launch instead of watching the football..
"I am two people "
It really is all in the songs!
The books are interesting, as are many comments here, in that they give an insight into the personalities of the writers, and the things in Morrissey's public image that they can best relate to. The variety of interpretations...
Bark out the limerick and I'll write it down for you. I'm a good listener..
The book is on the shelves at my local bookshop, along with FIVE others on Morrissey. Either the buyer is a fan, or there are a lot of people wanting to guess/ discover Who the real Morrissey is. ;)
I don't mind much who it is, as long as they are good musicians and the sound system gives them a decent chance to be heard. :)
A genuine attempt to provide a well-considered programme makes these essentials.
I don't mind hearing something new, outside my usual listening. I do mind a muddy...
Apparently the Judges are cross because the general public have expressed a preference they are not supposed to have. They disagreed with the Judges!! What is the world coming to?
Thanks for the BBC4 tip, Peter, I used "watch again" and am inspired, if remaining clueless.
We've been listening this week at work. :)
Everyone who came into the room started singing along..enduring appeal.
and it's had good reviews in the papers.
It was interesting programme. Some of the interviewees were being rock guitarists, dressed up and in character, and some were people talking about how much playing guitar meant to them personally, as a means of self expression.
I don't expect a pre-Christmas single. I think they would wait until closer to album release, but I could be mistaken.
Morrissey had been seen at gigs, not only of well-known artists but also newer bands, so perhaps the support band for tour is under consideration..
Expect a few snippets...
I can't imagine Morrisey doing this,
but if you as an artist, were offered a million quid to do a private gig for a Saudi Prince/business moneybags with promise it would never be publicised? There's a lot of artists who would, I bet..
I'm halfway through and enjoying it so far.
Len Brown gives background on the social and political climate that adds to understanding of the songs and the impact they had at the time. Good for younger listeners who might lack knowledge of the context.
Also he is present as writer, giving...
