Just played this song. It would have made a brilliant single, don't you think? His later stuff gets a bit of a knock - but this song is top!

I do lik it Bluenose but it's not as good as that other lost Morrissey classic "You Must Please Remember".
That song is excellent and never gets a mention....except by me every 6 months or so.....:)

I think Swallow is a fine b-side..
I agree with you on "You Must Please Remember",this is one of my all time fave Morrissey tracks, his voice is in top form and especially haunting when he sings
"Low-lights and Long nights
I try hard to not remember
And you-too beautiful
I can't look..."

I still haven't heard this song. It's on the B-side to "Dagenham Dave," isn't it?

" You Must Please Remember" is not on the 7" inch though.

I always liked Black Eyed Susan.. apart from that horrendous and pointless middle 8!! Spoils a polished tune in my stupid opinion.

I shall revisit 'you must please remember'

Ruffian

Total agree Ruff. They missed the chance to make "Susan" a classic.I can only assume Alain ran out of ideas.

I can only assume that the idea of the middle-eight was to suggest a long period of inactivity for, er, "Susan"...

I don't even think that is instruments playing on the niddle 8. I think it's just some random noise played backwards.

These are the questions people should be asking not the usual waffle about Morrissey's sexuality...I mean who cares about that

Yes, it sounds like some nice ambient noodling to me. Or is the term "wangling"?

What I meant to add was it's all meant to be some comment on black-eyed Siouxsie Sioux's behaviour during the recording of Interlude, isn't it? I also heard that Reader Meet Author was a comment on a particular journalist!

Pashernate Love too

Yes, "Swallow" and "You Must Please Remember" are top tunes. I also hold "Pashernate Love" in high regard. It could have been a single, I say.
