IANADOAC international charts - Spain #7, Portugal #12, Germany #13, Austria #32, Italy #89, France #117

The album entered the Portuguese chart at number 12, according to this:

(My Portuguese is non-existent, so apologies if this is some kind of bullshit "not real sales" kind of chart.)

Remember Morrissey said he was number 1 in Poland, even though he was showing the daily chart of a record shop in Poland and not the official Polish Album Chart? Well, shock of shocks, he didn’t make the top 50. http://olis.onyx.pl/listy/index.asp?lang=

He’s in the official French Album Chart! New entry at 117. https://snepmusique.com/les-tops/le-top-de-la-semaine/top-albums/

Number 13 in Germany. That’s a lot better. https://www.offiziellecharts.de/charts/album

Number 7 in Spain. He’s getting there! https://www.elportaldemusica.es/lists

Number 89 in his beloved Italy. https://www.fimi.it/top-of-the-music/classifiche.kl#/charts/1/2020/13

Number 32 in Austria. http://www.austriatop40.at/longplay.php

Is that Morrissey's highest chart placing in Spain thus far? France and Italy -- that's too bad...:(

Is anyone else finding it weird how these are varying so much? I'm still amazed by the Billboard 200 chart in particular - would be fascinating to get some actual sales data for the US.

I'm wondering if it reflects whether each country's radio stations decided to boycott the singles (like they did in the UK). The singles were great - if they got played it would have made a big difference to album sales...

Not really. There's no standard method to collecting the figures, they're easy to manipulate & no one's interested outside of the industry & here.

Moz's chart obsession is part of his retro obsession (& also nerdy & :drama: ).

A friend of mine contacted BMG Brazil and he was told IANADOAC release will be postponed due coronavirus. A physical copy will be available as soon as possible.

Imagine spending your life telling everybody they are wrong and that Morrissey is on the up

Hey knob rot, imagine putting a question mark at the end of every sentence and how annoying that could actually be and how much of an indicator of your lack of education it would be if you were actually English and not actually an Australian??

Imagine spending your life being bitchy about Morrissey's sales.
Imagine frequenting a Moz fansite with a username of Morrissey Isn't Very Good. Can humans devolve into pond sludge? He's well on his way.

I wonder does he watch Top Of The Pops 80's reruns on BBC4 like I do?

Imagine spending your life defending a washed-up, narcissistic lounge singer. ...railing-on and spinning yarns about fake chart positions, via personal insults.

If it’s any consolation, he’s probably in the top-10 amongst the 14 registered sycophants here on Morrissey-Solo. ;)

No. It’s a part of his wishy-washy, flip-flop approach to his own market. His current chart obsession is in stark contrast to his previous statements. He has previously shunned them as garbage, along with industry awards.

“Music that is in the charts today is quite dreadful. I find it a great honour that I have never been considered for awards, such as NME etc. It is a personal victory. All awards shows should be banned!” - Morrissey (2009).

If NME, or any other outlet came calling with accolades, Melvis would don his best cashmere, hop in his Mini and speed to the venue for the free vodka, Kerrygold and adulation.

What a difference a day makes, let alone a decade.

Imagine spending your life being a troll on a Morrissey forum because you're butt hurt over his opinions
Oh dear. People who take issue with the drivel that drips from the side of Morrissey’s mouth aren’t welcome? People who have valid opinions about the music aren’t welcome? This forum is only for fawning sycophant-slugs? I thought this was a place for free-speech and Morrissey related discourse.

What happened to all of the piss and vinegar about the evils of quashing various opinions? Oh - that’s right... The concept of free speech only applies to people who agree with you.

The only people who’re “butt hurt” are mindless twits like you. Rubes who dwell up his anus and only pop down to spit shit at those who disagree. You’re the latter-day latch-ons. Now you’re committed. The boat of rationality sailed, years ago. You had plenty of time to book a ticket. ...but here you are - tongue firmly planted in his anus, with the Melvis 14.
