Paul Heaton slags off Morrissey and praises Marr in new song

I've not heard the song but the lyrics are highlighted in the Mojo review of Heaton's new album, 'Manchester Calling'.
Marr is praised for being 'cool'. Profound stuff!

Heaton is a vile hypocrite. He is so WOKE he barely has time to sleep. I saw him on local news during the Brexit debacle, pontificating on the ‘rise of the right’ and the ‘widening gap between rich and poor’. Sat their on the comfy daytime TV sofa so smug and self satisfied in his three grand Stone Island coat, thousand quid Gucci trainers and designer denim. He praised the ‘benefits of multi cultural Britain’ and proclaimed himself a ‘socialist’ – what nonsense. How about actually listening to the community you supposedly sing about and celebrate. The same community where a bright working class kid finds his or herself in an overcrowded, under funded state school where five - count them - different languages are spoken. Some f***ing hope to raise yourself out of that wretched mire …

Shut up you crumb cake! Moz mouths the same hypocrisies, talking about "his" country changing while not even living there and wearing expensive Italian clothes!

Imagine Morrissey. Now make him heterosexual. Now make him a bit uglier and fatter but weirdly a bit more attractive. Make him more successful in the UK, but almost unheard of in the US. Lastly, make Andy Rourke the most successful of the ex-Smiths.

That's who Paul Heaton is.

But he doesn't mouth 'the same hypocrisies' and that is the crucial difference. Morrissey hasn't bought into the Neo Liberal multi cultural globalist 'dream'. He sees it for what it is - a nightmare for most working people.
It is not racist to have reservations about multiculturalism. Nor is it racist to be concerned about the social impact of allowing into your country a great number of people from unstable countries, in which prevailing cultural and legal norms vastly differ from those of your own. You can be comfortable with racial diversity and simultaneously anxious about religio-cultural diversity. This is by no means a contradictory position. Multiculturalism in the UK has led to a divided society. Multiculturalism is ultimately doomed to failure. In championing difference over cohesion, it fails to provide a central moral and cultural standard. Without this shared social framework, it is nigh-on impossible to cultivate the bonds of trust and mutual regard needed to tie together a multi-ethnic, religiously diverse society. End of.

Nice to see Paul and Jacqui claim their first number 1 album as a duo!

Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott have clinched their first Number 1 as a duo on this week’s Official Albums Chart with their new collection Manchester Calling.

The pair’s fourth album as a double act scores 20,500 chart sales – 94% of which are physical sales - to earn the former members of The Beautiful South this week’s Number 1.

Reacting to the news, Paul and Jacqui said:

“Thank you very, very much for making us Number 1. Thanks to everybody who bought it, the people who helped get it there, and Official Charts for giving us this lovely trophy. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It means so much. It means everything.”

As a duo, their previous three albums all landed in the Top 5, and as members of The Beautiful South they claimed three Number 1 albums: Carry On Up The Charts: The Best Of (1994), Blue Is The Colour (1996) and Quench (1998).

Last of the famous international screw ups.
Be interesting to see where Morrissey charts in the coming weeks?
Just out of interest, what do you think of the new album? Morrissey's that is.

Haven’t listened to the leaked version but of the 3 tracks I have heard I really liked Knockabout, I’m not keen on Bobby and I think Love is on the way out is ok ish.

I think you're gonna like the bulk of this album. It's an awfully impressive body of work IMHO.

As I said earlier somewhere, I love Housemartins, and am a fan of the beautiful south and Heaton as a bloke.
That said, I don’t remember a tune that pisses me off as much as his new one in a long time, “you and me are meant to be together” whatever it is called.
Twee, sugary tripe.

Yeah, Heaton's new single is awful. Dismal, unfunny cliched bollocks.
I bought the first thee Heaton/Abbott albums bit not getting this new one.
Would still see him live, though, as it's essentially the best of the Housemartins and the Beautiful South.

Shame he never got the Martins back together. Would have been awesome gigs.

There's a hilarious interview with Heaton in this month's Q, where he goes on about Manchester and how wonderful it is that all the multi-ethnic kids get on in school. I wanted to puke my guts out at his retarded, naive bolllocks. He doesn't have a f***ing clue what's happening in England anymore.
