Paul Heaton slags off Morrissey and praises Marr in new song

I've not heard the song but the lyrics are highlighted in the Mojo review of Heaton's new album, 'Manchester Calling'.
Marr is praised for being 'cool'. Profound stuff!

the only thing that cuck has sold out is his collection of :rat: :baseball::baseball:s

:lbf:

Well when Morrissey continually trumpets minor triumphs, and doesn't sell out his Leeds Arena date, I'd say Paul Heaton has the upper hand here. He sells more songs than Morrissey, and he sells more tickets than Morrissey. By any measure you like, he's more popular. So I'd say he has every right to slag off an act he sees as failing and bigoted. Because he's right.

Maybe in Yorkshire but around the earth Morrissey is way more popular and successful

This thread is f***ing hilarious, Paul Heaton/Jaquie Abott have virtually sold out every date on their UK tour including the whole of the Leeds arena (whereas as Moz can't even sell out 60%) and Castlefield bowl. FFS have some respect that some artists, are at this time, more popular than Morrissey!!
At this particular time, in the U.K., the Heaton tour could very well be more popular among certain people than Moz’. Sure. But in no way is Heaton a bigger or more popular artist in general than Moz. Like I said, hate Moz all you like, but don’t be f***ing delusional.

FFS they didnt sell out Leeds arena LOL the place was half empty.:lbf:
there were black curtains circling entire sections :(

this years gig, with four years down time is maybe 1o percent sold:lbf:

Le Pew is better known than this cuck outside the UK and that
is saything something seeing that Le Pew is basically unknow inside
the Uk as well:lbf:

I Still like the bit where High put you in your place.

Yeah, this literally who is totally more popular than MorrisseyView attachment 54524

Here, you're comparing the best of Morrissey over a 30 year period with the most recent Paul Heaton songs. If you compared the best of the beautiful south with most recent morrissey, the stats would be completely reversed.

Well, it will be interesting to see the lyrics. As a lifelong socialist, I'd say his position would have been expected.

By the way, he's sold out many places on his tour with Jacqui Abbott. Including Leeds Arena. Which Morrissey has not.

The Beautiful South is a wonderful band and they and Paul have flirted with Morrissey's views before "Hidden Jukebox"! Also, don't forget that they did cover the Smiths "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" on "This Old Skin" Single B-side.

Now to the point of playing Leeds. Paul very rarely performs and him selling out is not comparing apple to apples. Nice try :squiffy:

I don't know why you are all so obsessed with ticket sales and venue sizes. In an age when half the concert goers are there for the 'event' and to take selfies. You should be more concerned about song quality than who can fill the most seats. Look at all the shit bands with their sell out arena tours. That was never Moz. Moz has done amazingly well over the years.

And how let's compare these with the best of the beautiful south.

That’s quite a drop after the first 6 songs.
Surprised I Bury the Living is doing so well.

Morrissey and The Smiths win Top Trumps by a f***ing landslide!

Do you think Heaton will get a week long Vegas slot at Cesars Palace?
Why the f*** would he? He can travel all over and play wherever he wants. He hasn’t alienated his fans, burned all his bridges and - as such - isn’t relegated to the lazy, late-career cheese-factory schlock that is Vegas.
