Paul Heaton slags off Morrissey and praises Marr in new song

I've not heard the song but the lyrics are highlighted in the Mojo review of Heaton's new album, 'Manchester Calling'.
Marr is praised for being 'cool'. Profound stuff!

Well please don’t forget to remind us for at least 47 times in the next 3 weeks

Maybe some good will come from this, he may realise he has screwed himself over with his reckless mouth and retract the shit he has spewed over the last 18 months.

Well coming from you who likes posts by banned trolls wishing dead upon other users and Morrissey himself I hope it leads to you watching your reckless mouth and retract the shit you spew here on a daily basis. But I doubt it will ever happen...

The Beautiful South were enormous, at least here in the UK. One of the biggest bands of the 90s. They absolutely dwarfed Morrissey's success. Paul Heaton wrote many of their songs, and sung on most of them but their biggest and best know songs always had other singers, too (or just the female singers).
Paul Heaton is a genuine solo act was a commercial disaster. His album sales were pitiful (some not even making the top 40) and his live following was tiny. So few people were interested, he was effectively forced into reforming the Beautiful South (in all but name).

Not that it matters but this really how little the litte Englanders know.
Yes Beautiful South sold, more BUT morrissey was always more known and influential in the UK.
Paul would kill to have morrisseys influence.
As for the rest of the world moz wins hands down.

You live such a great life :lbf:

Yep, I do live a great life, 3 great kids and a lovely wife, nice happy lifestyle, lots of travel and lots of fun. Been a bit lonely this weekend though as they’ve been away for a Spa weekend.

Read my post again, I said Paul Heaton/Jaqui Abbotts album. By the way, which arenas has Morrissey sold out for next months tour?

How many times has Paul sold out anywhere big in Italy, Israel, Canada or USA.
Thick c***

Lol
Yes because having a wife and kids (which is easy) means you have a successful life.
How basic are you?

The idea that morrissey is a very successful international singer is nonsense. He has a small indie cult following around the globe. UK sales comprise a third to 50% of his total worldwide sales for each album. Only one of his albums reached a million worldwide, the rest just a few hundred thousand. Beautiful south albums sold several million worldwide, virtually always outselling morrissey several times over. But Heaton as a solo act is an absolute minnow.

No, go and look yourself, it's not difficult. Bet you something though, the new Paul Heaton/Jaqui Abbott album will chart higher than Morrissey's.

No wonder - all tickets are 30 pounds. Economics 101 people.

The cheaper the ticket price means more sales except in the case of Uncleskinny giving a concert.

You got Vegan Cro replying for you, no wonder your such a sad bastard living with that tosser.

‘Victim, or life's adventurer

Victim or life's adventurer

Don’t answer that.

We already know.

.....PELOTUDO RECIBIDO!!!!!! VIVA MOZ!!!!!

"Paul would kill to have Morrissey's influence", saving that he will diss him in a song, gaining attention by using his name and hoping to gain media favour in the process. Nobody would know who heaton was if Morrissey mentioned him in a song.

Well, it will be interesting to see the lyrics. As a lifelong socialist, I'd say his position would have been expected.

By the way, he's sold out many places on his tour with Jacqui Abbott. Including Leeds Arena. Which Morrissey has not.
The ticket prices for Paul Heaton for all sections of 3 arena Dublin are €38, Morrissey's were €92 not including booking fees. It's that simple.

It depends on what you mean by success. It was stated that Paul was a bigger act than morrissey, because he sold more in the uk.

Some of us are pointing out Morrissey sells more than Paul and The Beautiful South in lots of other countries.

If you like moz or not. It doesn't change his position. He is still Widely regarded as one of the more important/influential pop/rock stars ever.
Nobody gives two shits about Paul and the Beautiful South or Gene or billy bragg etc etc.

Also do you honestly think any of these acts would sell any tickets if they had to endure Mozzers bad press?
Moz is still on course to be one of the most loved and respected artists since bowie.
Haters can hate.

I think most people just don't like melancholy music.
