Excerpt:

"Today (March 9), we’re given another jolt of new Class Actress material, and they have a warm familiarity at play: Sense Memory is a new three-track covers EP, and it finds Harper taking her shot at classics across four decades: The Smiths’ classic indie-pop bouncer “Ask”; Mazzy Star’s woozy ’90s ballad “Fade Into You”; and The Weeknd’s modern classic “The Hills,” which is probably the most sinister mainstream hit of the past thousand years."

Regards,
FWD.

She changed "buck-toothed girl in Luxembourg" to "buxom girl in Luxembourg". A bit interesting because buxom and luxem compliment each other. Is this the rare case of someone changing a Morrissey lyric and the change being an improvement?

Don’t hold back like you’re on the fence, kiddo. You’ve got an opinion on everything.

Which Melvis tune tweaks your “sinister” douche-bag more than than that song, by the Weeknd?

Not my cup of tea - sounds like someone very bored doing a karaoke version. But good luck to them.

Whoever wrote it, must have been a vampire. Any other explanations how they could possess the knowledge about the sinister mainstream hits of the past thousand years?

Spot on. Ketamine c*** is amongst the top delusional Melvis extremists.

The thing that you really miss are Johnny's guitar and arrangements. The words and melody are there, but without the instrumentation, it's just a light happy tune, not a pop classic.

not a bad version of ask at all.little bits of synth come and go in this.

I am sorry, but this goes completely against the grain. This person was more than likely not even born at the time the music was released and has no idea what the band stood for. She is just cashing in on indie cool. It is low-fi and sadly just not very interesting. Yawn

Sounds like an average lockdown victim on a lonley drunk night with a bad karaoke cd trying to make somthing of the evening. Every normal human being would wake up the next morning with a headache and shamefully throw this recording away... Nerak, do yourself and us a favor... delete it!

Or could be she doesn't know the words.

Sounds like the trailer music for a coming of age film about a young girl who doesn't quite fit in but finally finds her voice, blah, blah, blah...

Ick. It's like a b-grade Pomplamoose cover band without the interesting spin.
