What does everyone think of the new songs?

This album is unlike any of the other albums, it is quite honest and has a bit of a theme to it. Home is a question mark? My heart aches at this statement, I know the feeling.

Jacky's always happy when she's up
on the stage
I make this claim now let me explain
Since she lost you

Jacky's always happy when she's up
on the stage
She's [?] the truth of make believe
Since she lost you

She is determined to prove
How she can build up the pain
Of every lost and lonely day

Jacky's always happy when she's up
on the stage
She'll make you believe what you'll never believe
Since she lost you

Jacky's only Jacky when she's up on the stage
[?]
Since she lost you

She is determined to prove
How she can build up the pitch
Of every lost and lonely day

I am singing to my lover at night
Scene two
everyone who comes must go
Scene four
it's blacker than ever before
Scene six
this country is making me sick

Jacky cracks when she isn't on stage
Seen the effects of sexual neglect
No script, to crew, no autocue
No audience telling her what to do

Exit, exit
Everybody's heading to the exit, exit
Everybody's running to the exit, exit
Everybody's heading for the exit, exit

I like all the new songs.
All the young people is standing out a bit for being that much different compared to most of his other songs. Daring and brave. Should be a single.

Upon hearing at first Jacky it didn't thrill me but now I think it is great too.
A grower, just like Spent.
Home=? Great song.
And "Legs" is not only great because it is about cycling. :squiffy:

It is all new and different so far compared to Worldpeace which is 1 of my alltime favourites next to Viva and Vauxhall.
Didn't hear a real letdown yet but there has to be one too, otherwise it isn't Moz.
Tradition is important. ;)

I've seen many shores
I hugged the land
but nothing more
because I haven't met you

I have whined and
I have dined with
every bogus music mogul
no sign of you

I brush and I roll (?)
pressing palms
excluding charm
yet never in arms

And that's why
home is a question mark
home is a place I don't know
home is a question mark
home is a place I don't know

I have been brave
deep in every shaden day
none with you

another film on replay
this time Hell
with Guillaume Canet
for ?

That's why
home is a question mark
home is a place I don' know
home is a question mark
home is the place I don't know

Home
is it just a word?
Or is it something you
carry within you?

I'm happy just to be here
if I ever find home
if I ever find home
if I ever find home
if I get there would you meet me
wrap your legs around my face
just to greet me
if I get there would you meet me
wrap your legs around my face
just to greet me

if I ever get there
do you think I will?
do you think I will?
do you think I will?

How many times I'd say (?)

I brush and I roll (?) or rubbed.

also hearing... I brush and I am rolled. (robbed?)

excluding charm
yet never in arms

arms does make more sense, but I'm kinda hearing ... yet never in art.

do you think I will?

do you really think I will ?

How many times I'd say

also hearing... How many times I've say I shall on. ?

o_O:confused::)

I think it's just the title and maybe some of the lyrics. Alain said that it's not his music. Said he had a demo with morrissey singing it but this song is credited to boz and so is new and I imagine the vocal would change to fit the new music
Okay thanks for clearing that up. So was it Quarry era?

Thanks. I'm not fond of this song, but it does make me think of...Kristeen Young.:p

They're ok without being mind blowing. Let's wait and see how the album versions sound.
All the young people..starts off promising, then it's just constant repetition for the last 2mins. It's the repetition of lyrics I don't like. Morrissey has had 3 years to write some good stuff and can't fill 3 mins of a song without repeating the same thing over and over. His songs used to be story telling, they'd unveil things and develop as they went on, but they just go nowhere now. Also I don't like when the title of the song ends up being the first line of the song, (spent the day, I wish you, jackies only happy) It's always seemed lazy to me. But most disappointng of all, his songs have stopped meaning anything to me, Who the f***'s Jackie and why should I care about her?

For me Jacky is that someone we all know who is obsessed with attention via social media, Instagram etc but their real life is really shit. The stage is a metaphor for that
It makes sense to me that way - I know someone exactly like that and I want to send the song to her. There is a story / snippet of modern life in there if you choose to see it that way

Anyone who ever had attention through a powerful job or some other career will struggle to retire and live off what once was. Those people are in need of some stage, any stage, to feel alive and important. That is why they went for the jobs and careers they had in the first place.

Reading about histrionics is such an eye opener if you wanna dig under the layers of politicians and people who you see on tv. The ability to become something is almost always driven on by a deep rooted need fueled by a state of mind that some class as a mental illness or condition.

For me it just explains why they act like they do and how they are able to act like they do. Psychiatry is too obsessed with protecting a personality they see as normal and then compare everything else with that.

I can never forget the video of Morrissey and Damon at LAX.

I like all the tracks that I've heard so far and I'm waiting to buy the album BUT!

World Peace is None of Your Business is going to be hard to top. That album really is something else.

i completely agree. was listening to "wish you lonely" this morning in a quiet moment, and it really seized me. i liked the powerful whale-part at the end. so, i am looking forward to mid-november
Got the same hit. I think this was the biggest standout upon first listen to the Maida Vale set. Shock for me how Spent is a grower as well. I can understand people moaning about his repetitive style though.
