Your favourite album of 2010

'iya laaaaaav! Those were the days, eh? Them there days when I actually LIKED people, and went to places.

Ah, halcyon days.

f*** it, I'll put the kettle on. Tea for two yeah?

Tea for two, please! No sugar, stew the bag, let it drain, stir nicely - Ta' very much.

Are you a Solo stalker?

I was a huge Pipettes fan but heard lots of bad things about the new album, and also couldn't find it easily in the record shops.
Is it worth hunting down?

I really, really like it. My friend, also a huge fan, hates it.

Worth a listen. They've moved away from their previous 60s girl-group style but they haven't lost their skill with a pop song.

late contender as I've onl;y just heard it. the Robyn album. Quality poptastic music making of the highest order.

Did I include this in my list? If not I should've.

While the campaign may have flopped big style, for fans....what a year.

I haven't actually bought many new releases this year. The Divine Comedy's Bang Goes the Knighthood is brilliant though, as is Falcon- it's a much more mature, original record than St Jude, I feel (although I do like SJ). I still have yet to buy The Suburbs. I feel this is something of a faux pas, but I will get it at some point.

For 2011 I am looking forward to Yuck's debut LP and hopefully something from Late Of The Pier. 2010's been more about finding all sorts of older stuff for me, so I have become quite detached from new music.

My holy trinity:
1 - Belle & Sebastian's Write about Love
2 - She & Him's Volume Two
3 - The National's High Violet

_____
and if it's possible I'd include Kings of Leon's Come around the sundown

Teen Dream, Eyelid Movies and Speaking Horrors by Cemeteries were my top 3..........................................

CocoRosie - Grey Oceans
First Aid Kit - The Big Black and The Blue
The National - High Violet
Belle & Sebastian - Write About Love
Owen Pallett - Heartland
Arcade Fire - The suburbs
Janelle Monáe - The ArchAndroid
Joanna Newsom - Have one on me
Laura Marling - I speak because I can
The Black Keys - Brothers
Karen Elson - The ghost who walks
The Dead Weather - Sea of cowards

I know I'm forgeting a lot of good albums now... but 2010, at least for me, was a very special year for music.
