Singer/songwriter known for his bubblegum records, born May 9, 1942, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. His first hit was "Sheila", recorded in 1960 but not a success until two years later, and (despite his career being put on hold from 1963-6 while he was serving as an electrician in the US Army) he scored several more hits during the 1960's including the 1969 transatlantic number one, "Dizzy".

Thomas David "Tommy" Roe (born May 9, 1942) is a retired American rock and pop singer-songwriter.Best-remembered for his hits "Sheila" (1962) and "Dizzy" (1969), Roe was "widely perceived as one of the archetypal bubblegum artists of the late 1960s, but cut some pretty decent rockers along the way, especially early in his career," wrote the AllMusic journalist Bill Dahl.
