i read in the smiths biography
'songs that saved your life' that morrisey acted in a spin off of channel 4's drama 'brookside'

the show was called 'south' or something like taht and he played a charachter

if you know anything about this please let me know

He played himself and was seen briefly in the foyer of a radio station/tv studio by the characters Damon Grant and his girlfriend Debbie.
He didn't have any lines and wasn't on screen for more than a few seconds, but may have said "hello" or "thank you" in response to something one of them said.
All this is from memory, but that is the gist.

Then she gets called in. I recall an interview when Moz said it was "...essential kettle-on viewing"
