OK, so last night was the COOLEST night ever! So we go to the
Pete Yorn
concert
and get right up close to the stage. I don't know how, but we
did. We
were about 25 feet away the whole time. He is so incredibly
sexy, it was

unbearable. Mary and I were screaming like 17 year olds at a
Duran Duran

concert. He's quite the melancholy man, so there weren't a whole
lot of
smiles from him. We got 2 the entire night and when he did, the
place
just erupted in screams (mostly girls). So Mary and I were like
the
oldest women around, but we didn't care. He did a version of
Bowie's
"China Girl" that rocked the house! For the encore, he did The
Smith's
"Panic" and no one around us knew what he was singing. Mary and
I were
singing along like crazy women and all the kids were like
"What's this
song?" It was hysterical!

So afterwards, we are walking to the car and we see these 2
girls
standing by a barricade by a door and we start talking to them.
Turns
out it's the backstage door and they are waiting for Pete. So,
we wait a

while too. We get bored and start hassling the roadies who are
coming in

and out of the doors. We try to convince them to let us in, but
no luck.
Mary has the biggest balls ever. She walks right up to 4 roadies
and
says, "OK, who do I have to blow to get backstage?" She's
married with a
4 year old, so was just kidding and the roadies got a kick out
of it.
It was fun though, chatting them up. One guy was pretty hunky
and told
us that they'd be at the Green Mill (a bar around the corner)
later. So
we go over to the Green Mill to hang out and have a few drinks.
It's a
cool swing/jazz bar, so we hang there for a while and some
Christian
dude tries to pick me up, which was pretty odd. So, I'm getting
a
headache from the smoke and we decide to leave. We go back
outside and
the crowd outside the door has gotten a little bigger. We go
back over
and chat with the same chicks. I want to leave, but Mary says
Pete will
be out soon and we have to wait 5 minutes. About 30 seconds
later, he
walks out. There was nothing and no one to stop anyone, really,
so Mary
goes running over to Pete Yorn and sticks her hand out for him
to shake
it. This HUGE bodyguard yells at her and goes to push her back.
Pete
says, "Hey man, it's ok. Don't hurt her. I can shake her hand."
So he
does and then people start yelling out his name and asking him
to sign
stuff. He kind of shakes his head no and someone yells out "Hey
Pete!
We've been standing out here for 2 hours!" Pete looks at his
bodyguard
who totally shakes his head no at him. Pete says, "Hey man,
they've been

waiting, I've got to sign some stuff." Then walks right over to
us and
starts signing away and talking to us! There were only about 20
people
there, so it went pretty fast. He took pictures with people and
answered

our questions. While he was signing, I said out loud to him that
we were

the only 2 old hags who recognized the Smith's song he played.
He turned

and smiled at me and said, "Oh that was you guys?" and shook my
hand!!!
How awesome is THAT???? So star
struck! Since he signed our stuff first, we stepped back and
watched him

interact. We actually crouched behind him and stared right at
his ass.
We weren't 12 inches from his ass. The only down point is that
he's
short
- about 5'9" max.

During the show, they kept putting this yellow light on him. We
were
saying how hot he looked in the light and a girl next to us
said, "Look.

He's glowing like Jesus." It was quite the religious experience,
I must
say. If anything, you need to get his CD!

I am one tired girl. I didn't get home until 1am - on a school
night.
God, I'm old.
