are you a nice person and is it worth it?

Driving into work on Monday, I come to a 4 way stop. The car on the other side has their blinker on to go left, I'm going straight. We both wave each other through and I "re-wave" the person to go ahead.....when the other car's driver starts going off gesturing and yelling at me (she had her window down).

That's what being nice gets you nowadays.

peace, compassion, kindness, niceties, smiling

do you follow through with it, give money to homeless people, offer people your seat, and why?

discuss

I offer my seat to old people and people who for one reason or another seem to be less able to stand but that's about it. I never give money to homeless people since I'm convinced it only supports the system that makes them homeless. I don't smile at strangers, I'm afraid that they will think I look nice and try to talk to me. I don't like talking to strangers.

I have waited long enough....

"...Don't talk to me now
about people who are "nice"
'cause I have spent my WHOLE LIFE
in RUINS...
because of people who were "nice"..."

Love, peace and harmony?
Oh, very nice
Very nice
Very nice
Very nice
Very nice
...But maybe in the next world.

I used to think I was nice and everybody else is horrible, now I think I'm horrible and everybody else is horrible. Such is life.

I am VERY nice...TOO nice sometimes....which can get you into all kinds of trouble...but overall it's worth it! :blushing:

Love Alma xxx

Hi Alma - I had this feeling you'd pop up on the Nice Person thread:) You absolutely are very nice.

I think I am too (well maybe just nice and not very nice).

As someone trying to be a Nurse and who wants to look after animals and people....maybe!
But we all have a dark side within our humane shells.

I am actually a very nice person.:)
I am kind and considerate.
However, I do not give people money. If someone asked me
on the street, I would give them directions to the nearest welfare
agency that hands out food vouchers.
Because, I understand some people beg for money for drugs, alcohol,
cigarettes, etc.
I worked in aged and personal care for over two years and I helped
people who were too old or too disabled to look after themselves.
I did enjoy it greatly, but unfortunately I have now sustained a major
injury and am unable to work until I get the right treatment......
