More on the Dresden cancellation - venue unsuitable for performance

From Scott Shelley:

I just spoke with my wife, who is currently following Morrissey through Germany, and she assured me that the venue was completely unsuitable for Morrissey. In fact, she remarked that it didn't much look like a venue at all. There were no stage lights, and the stage was STILL BEING BUILT when they arrived this afternoon. Perhaps it's true that very few tickets were sold, but even if the show sold out, this show was never going to take place.

From Disappointed Lifeguards:

It's official now: the tickets for Dresden are valid for the
show in Leipzig (Luna-Park - NOT House Auensee as
posted!!)
I don't know if it makes any difference or not - that's what we've been told in Dresden.

Leipzig is tomorrow night. Ticket scan of tonight's Berlin concert from Christian Kirchberger.

Smiths tribute "I Know It's Over" - May 2000

The tribute (on which the Cinerama cover mentioned yesterday will be on) has been mentioned often on this site. From Gagan Palrecha:

...Cinerama covering "London"  is going to be on:

The First Time Records. A Tribute To The Smiths - "I Know It's Over" (tft 001/007).

Also appearing will be The Cardigans, Supergrass, Cinerama, Kent, Ida, Quicksand, The Deftones, Jejune, Cobolt, Billy Bragg, Super Furry Animals, Versus, Pop Unknown, The Gloria Record, and many more. 20 bands total.

We've been planning it for over a year now, and it'll be out next year in May.

Send your virtual love to Moz

From Karla:

I am currently overseeing a project via the web entitled, "The Morrissey Project". The premise of this idea is that all Moz fans e-mail me any sort of "virtual presents" in the form of poems, pictures, artwork, love letters, etc etc, any and everything you have ever wanted to say or show to him and they will be posted to the shrine. I am not promising anything, but I will do anything in my power to get this to him or at least to his "people". Remember, these "presents" will be viewable by other visitors to the url. Please email me with all donations and questions at [email protected] or visit the page.

Cover stars in "The Limey"

From Gina:

If you get a chance, I really recommend the film "The Limey", starring former near-Smiths cover star Terence Stamp and actual-Smiths album cover star Joe Dallesandro. Joe has a supporting role as a bad boy hood who's hired to off Mr. Stamp's character. A little poetic justice there? Although he's not as young and trim as he was on the cover of The Smiths (I recommend any of the Warhol/Morrissey films to see him in his prime), his beauty is still evident. I hope he gets more visible roles after this.
