off the top of my head, I'm sure this is not the definitive list I would come up with if I took a few hours to think about it. One thing I notice looking at the list is that I didn't put on anything but rock and I listen to other things. There should be a place on here for Public Enemy and Johnny Cash, and for some female artists. Where's Patti, Chrissie, or Nico? Where's Jimi Hendrix? Problem is he doesn't have a perfect album, but either Electric Ladyland or Are You Experienced? belong on this list. Where's Radiohead? They're probably my favorite band. Anyway, this is my list. It's fairly accurate. I've spent a lot of time listening to every one of these records at some stage. Aerosmith - Rocks and Guns'N'Roses - Appetite For Destruction are a couple I just thought of. It isn't fair to dislike a band's early work because of what they turn into, I guess.
Pink Floyd - The Wall
The Beatles - White Album
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
The Who - Who's Next
John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band
The Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
AC/DC - Highway to Hell
Neil Young - Live Rust
Nirvana - Nevermind
John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures

Re: I don't get it.

only because it's "credible" to say the Beatles are great. They're not. They never were. They're a boring little guitar pop band for gals and guys down your local boozer.

It's no more interesting to me than take That or Cast.

all good albums but i've never understood the appeal of green by rem and closer by JD. Maybe i need to listen more.
