I have the basics of a band at http://www.mp3.com/thecatspyjamas. Does anyone write lyrics and want to contribute ? I am going to write new music and record it with different singers. Or maybe you can sing ? If you want to sing you need to record the vocal to my track and email it to me, unless you are in london. I don't know what the new songs will be like yet, so I need some inspiration from lyricists, I hate songs with poor lyrics ! Don't be shy, I am an amateur as well right now, so lets see your lyrics !

the vagueness of this missive makes me inspired.

Don't you think you should find someone where you live at? It makes band rehearsals more exciting when there is an actual singer.

Well, suzanne it's difficult to know where to start with you. OK, firstly there is already a couple of singers. The idea is to record with different people using technology if they are far away, thats TECHNOLOGY suzanne. This means you get to record with who you actually like rather than who your next door neighbour happens to be. having been in many bands. Asking for lyrics doesn't seem to be a vague request to me, it's pretty specific. Anyway, I won't discuss this anymore with you, as I have a suspicion that you are trying to flame me to get a reaction and then complain about my reaction to the board moderator-YAWN.

First of all, Mr Paranoid, I never run off and tattle on anyone because I don't care to. That's silly and childish.

Second of all, I think I'm asking a legitimate question. Why should any artist turn their material over to someone who says in the same paragraph" "I'm looking for lyricists...or possibly singers if you want to sing"

Which that in itself is vague. Do you want a singer/lyricist, or simply someone to write words? And besides, if I take that to mean that you live in London, how on Earth can you not find anyone to pair up in one of the largest and most culturally diverse cities in the world? In any city such as that, for every drummer out of work, there are at least 15 singers waiting for their break.

And besides, I think Marr, Joyce, and Rourke lived in the same neighborhood....

Ok Suzanne, there's a law called copyright law which protects 'intellectual ideas'. You equate choice with 'vague', what can I say to that, I don't think in black and white. I work with people in my 'neighbourhood' and due to TECHNOLOGY, I can work with people worldwide which is far more exciting. Marr, Joyce and Rourke ? if you would like to introduce me I will put my ideas to them :> If you are a kid Suzanne, thats cool, I don't mean to give you a hard time, but your first post to me was really cutting, so what can I think ? if you have questions you should ask them in the first instance.

Is it an "intellectual idea" to say "I marched forward and proclaim that I want a lyricist who can sing. The rest of you can go to hell"?

give me a hard time? You're like a nit on an elephant.

I understand the idea of technology because I'm not stupid. I'm questioning why you think technology is going to necessarily bring you a better pool of talent.

Especially considering where you are posting. Look around this place and you will realize that the streets of London offer you 100X the possibilities.

Can anyone explain this post to me ? especially the first paragraph.

You're the one that threw in the bit about copyright for no reason. I think that should be left to you.
