Morrissey actually says sorry!!!!

Seems a bit odd how the left out the details of how this "apology" took place. Did he phone the NME, email them, or convey this in an interview? It just seems rather odd.

Why is it odd? You really should spend time on other things.

"I hope to God I didn't upset their grannies"

Hmmmm... Doesn't sound very apologetic to me.

He's not really saying sorry is he. Just making the point he was misinterpreted.

that's right but it's a bit of a first that he's done that eh? Normally he doesn't give a toss how the press interpret owt he says. Must be a new l.p. coming out or maybe a promotional tour in the pipeline or summat? ;o)

He is saying sorry for saying that their success was too quick and easy. He says it was just like with the Smiths.

..he is so cute sometimes...

"In any case, I was wrong about their success being too sudden and without any dues paid, because that's exactly how it happened for The Smiths. So, I really should shut it."

How is he? He says he was WRONG, not misinterpreted ...

"....whatever I said was said with tender, avuncular concern..."

I cracked up at that. In addition to feeling ever so slightly creeped out. Splendid stuff!
