Your 10 least favourite Morrissey tracks

gashonthenail

You will own nothing and you will be happy...
So, with the whole of Quarry about to be played live, as well as the other recent thread about our top 10 Moz tracks, it got me thinking about the Moz tracks that just don't do it for me.
I know lists are a bit shit and change over time, but here goes.
2 of the songs on my list are on Quarry - I'm Not Sorry and How Can Anybody. I do think though the latter may sound ok live?
Years of Refusal gets the booby prize with 4 songs on my list. That is easily the Moz album I like and listen to the least.
There is no song on my list from before 1997, and also nothing from I Am Not A Dog, which I think was a real return to form:

1. The Public Image
2. Mama Lay Softly on the Riverbed
3. When Last I Spoke to Carol
4. Sorry Doesn't Help
5. I'm OK by Myself
6. I’m Not Sorry
7. How Can Anybody Possibly Know
8. Papa Jack
9. Forgive Someone
10. Jacky’s Only Happy

Mine is entirely from the J.C. era, except for two tracks from Kill Uncle.

All the Young People Must Fall in Love
Darling, I Hug a Pillow
Earth Is the Loneliest Planet
Found Found Found
I Am Not a Dog on a Chain
Jacky's Only Happy When She's Up on the Stage
Knockabout World
The Secret of Music
Spent the Day in Bed
Tony the Pony

4. Lover to Be
5. All The Lazy Dykes
6. Sorry Doesn’t Help
7. The Kids A Looker
8. At Last I Am Born
9. The Girl From Tel Aviv Who Wouldn’t Kneel
10. Knockabout World

Only including released songs. And in no particular order.

Carol? 😬 I’m not Sorry? 🧐

Journalists Who Lie was, on reflection, first evidence perhaps that Morrissey was prepared to use his hard won reputation for quality as an opportunity to simply make a point.

JC did really nothing for him except to eagerly manage Morrissey's diminishing lyrical skills and the incompetence of his new musicians. Anyway, it may well be, that BOT would have been great, if only because Sleepy Joe was no longer at the mixing desk.

Great thread.

At least now I know who my enemies are!

;)

I seem to be to be the only who has included Who Will Protect Us From the Police, yet several others have chosen I’m Not Sorry. Some even Certain People I Know, others Carol.

Who Will Protect Us… qualifies for me as one of those unintentionally funny tracks, that becomes endearing after a while. The ending is certifiably bonkers.

Also, the vocal is flawless.
