Suggests they are fully going for the rescheduled message:

Hi there,

Tonight's event has been rescheduled...

The event organisers have been in touch to let us know that tonight's show has been rescheduled and will no longer be taking place.

The event organisers are working hard to arrange a new date and as soon as we get any update on this, we'll be in touch to let you know. Your tickets will be valid for this new date.

Please understand that given the extraordinary circumstances, our Fan Support teams are incredibly busy at the moment, so we encourage you not to contact us. Instead, you can find lots of information and answers to your questions in our information portal.

If you sold your tickets on our Ticket Exchange and haven’t received payment, you will now be paid 10-12 working days after the new date - which is yet to be announced.

If you have any questions for us, there's lots of information in our FAQs.

We're sorry for any disappointment caused.

Yep, crazy how some folks think it's ok.
Stockholm syndrome. It'll never be ok imo, after years and years of him doing it. If it is a venue issue, then that's totally out of his control, but he should still be personally issuing a message or doing so through his PR and/or official channels.

Edit: Just realised how absolutist I sounded here. Of course, some cancellations are fine (e.g. bereavement, legitimate illnesses etc), but Morrissey does have a bit of a track record of dubious cancellations.

If it is indeed a venue issue, surely Morrissey’s team would leap at the chance to pin this all of that, rather than use this unforeseen circumstances
Once he is finished talking to Jesus on the big porcelain telephone, had a bottle of Lucozade and a vegan fry-up, we’ll get some shit about having a sore throat.

Yes, he is precious, isn't he? Springsteen is even older and plays back to back shows, hours per show.
Bruce hasn't played back to back shows for years mate. Still doesn't excuse Moz however. Any back to back these days is 50/50 for the second show. You just can't trust the guy....anyone who made travel plans for Notts is nuts.

Anyone: "I'm annoyed Morrissey did X, but not surprised Morrissey did X despite him having a track record of doing X. I had tickets to see him at X, so I'm annoyed he's done X."

You: "How DARE YOU HATE MORRISSEY??? HOW DARE YOU! YOU f***ING SCUMBAG! STOP DISLIKING HIM (even though you never said you did dislike him) and STOP CRITICISING HIM FOR THIS THING HE ALWAYS DOES, TOUR AFTER TOUR! PEOPLE WHO HATE MORRISSEY SHOULDN'T COME TO THIS FORUM (even though the owner is perfectly fine with that, and even though you don't hate Morrissey)!! NO ONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SAY ANYTHING MEAN ABOUT MORRISSEY, EVER!!!!

This is basically you, every single time anyone gives any basic, tiny, legitimate criticism of Morrissey. It's just really, really sad. Reminds me of my much younger 16 year old self, but I expect you're about 43 and still at it. Thewlis, you seriously need to live and let live, start being a bit nicer and just allow people to have their very mild and reasonable opinions, which cause literally zero harm to anyone.
Lol, you need to pay closer attention.

I’m always nice and have never insulted anyone on here. Yet others start the insults whenever you don’t agree with them.

I’ve been on this board the whole 25 years it exists and have seen perfectly nice people change from eager fans to disturbing ex-fans.

My position has always been the same. I love The Smiths’ and Morrissey’s music and if people don’t like it anymore, then they are free to leave.

It’s never an excuse to start insulting other fans.

Commiserations to all those who were planning to go the show tonight - and, God knows, Nottingham needed cheering up.
There will almost certainly be no message or explanation on Moz Central. Just like there wasn't after the walking off stage in LA. Moz has many enemies out there, no doubt - but sometimes he is his own worst.

Honestly, I see you as one of the most negative people on here, precisely because you try and stifle any discussion which may be critical of Morrissey.

This isn't a fan site in the sense that it's just for fans who constantly praise Morrissey. It's a site about Morrissey, on which any opinions can be given about Morrissey. If you don't like that anymore, then you are free to leave.

Finally got a text off Ticketmaster, but doesn’t cite a reason for it not going ahead.

We're sorry! Morrissey, tonight, won't be going ahead. We'll be back in touch with a new date soon. Tix valid for new date once announced. TMUK.

I like all opinions and am always civilly open to debate any critical stuff about Morrissey or The Smiths. In fact that’s what I am doing just now.

Your attack comes out of nowhere and is based on absolutely nothing.

Now let’s go back on topic. We’re all gutted Morrissey is not able to play tonight.

Hopefully there actually is a new date.

Had just arrived in my Nottingham hotel and started to unpack.

Ironically I live about 15 miles away normally, but have been in Edinburgh for three weeks, so headed down and was travelling back tomorrow.

Slightly gutted for me, for everyone who was looking forward to the gig and for the £250 I've just spunked unnecessarily.

Oh well off to hooters to watch the cricket

Given there will be a crowd of the irregular regulars already at the venue, do we know if he actually turned up there already with band and bus?
