Which do you think is the best collection of songs from the 'post wilderness' years?
I'm pretty certain what the answer will be but interested in others' opinions none the less...

Can't choose, so here's my list:

First Of The Gang To Die
Irish Blood, English Heart
I Have Forgiven Jesus
Come Back To Camden
It's Hard To Walk Tall When Your Small
The Never Played Symphonies
Dear God, Please Help Me
Life Is A Pigsty
Christian Dior
All You Need Is Me

As much as I like the songs themselves on YATQ, I think that they are let down by the lifeless, uninspired production techniques - it doesn't have the raw energy or 'zap' of a Morrissey album - yet is still a terrific album due to the quality of the songs.
ROTT has the best production and visionary skills of the two, and some truly outstanding songs - to me it is a work of art as appose to an album (YATQ).

must admit I'm quite surprised by these results.
thought the Quarry b-sides would do better.
they were voted the best (or second best) set of B-sides a while back whereas Quarry tends to be a middling solo album in the overall scheme of things (in polls etc)...

all the lazy dykes
in the future when alls well
let me kiss you
ganglord (funniest song released by any artist in the last 100 years)
never played symphonies (a little mawkish but overall a nice poetic jab about mortality.

the father who must be killed. (i listen to it and im watching a hall mark special made for tv movie! its ace!)

christian dior
it could have been 'paul bowles' it could have been 'marguerite yourcenar'i

if you dont like me dont look at me. ( each song a bitter lesson)
